What a Fantastic Trip!!!

One of millions of beatiful birds
There are 2 schools of thought as far as where the Amazons is born. For many years the Amazons was said to be born in a community call Nauta about 60 miles of the city of Iquitos in the Amazonas Peruvian state de Loreto. However a modern expedition of Natural Geographic in 1972 certified that the uninterrupted stream of water that forms the Amazons River is born high up in the Andean mountains officially making it more than 4200 miles long. Nevertheless, we are going to start our journey in Nauta, Peru were the rivers Maranon and Ucayali joint their waters together. The only reason that we are starting our journey here is for convenience of travel, as I am going to divide the Amazons River in three different zones as follows: - Sector 1-------From Iquitos, Perú to Leticia, Colombia
- Sector 2-------From Leticia, Colombia to Manaos, Brasil
- Sector 3-------From Manaus, Brazil to Belem, Brazil (Atlantic)
The First sector is the one most rewarding as far as flora and Fauna and it starts in Iquitos going true some amazing scenery until you reach the City of Leticia in Colombia. Since this city is located in the triple border area here also you will find the small city of Tabatinga in Brazil and the small village of Santa Rosa in Peru. This area is better known as tri-border as the river joins here the countries of Peru, Colombia and Brazil. In the second sector will keep heading downstream to cover approximately 1200 kms from the tri-border area to the city of Manaus the biggest Amazonian city in Brazil. Finally, in the last sector we will cover the 1500 Kms from Manaus to the city of Belen in the Brazilian state of Para with a stop closer to the middle to visit the amazing beaches of Alter Do Chao closer to Santarem in the middle of the journey. At the very end of this long trip, we will arrive to the Atlantic Ocean and there we will find the city of Belem the capital city of the state of Para. Belem is a modern city of more than two million people with a very busy ship port located exactly where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Amazons River. Needless to say that you will find any necessity that you may have regarding shopping and plenty of 5 starts hotels if but this time you are getting tired of sleeping in hammocks. Also because the ship port has been an important merchandising point since several centuries ago, this city is full of history and you will find many interesting museums regarding the slavery times as well as Modern Art.
